Description
A dual-grafted apple with two varieties on the one tree - "Granny Smith" and "Jonathan". Requires 300-600 chill hours, making it an excellent fruiter in Perth. Dual-grafted trees are fully self-fertile as the two varieties will pollinate one-another. As a result, they take up less room as you don't have to buy two separate trees.
Granny Smith:
A medium-sized fruit with a rich green skin and sprightly flavour which sweetens mildly if left to hang on the tree. Crisp and firm, stores well. Ideal for stewing and cooking. Mid-to-late season maturity.
Jonathan:
One of the older and more widely known apple cultivars. Rounded in shape with medium size, the skin is bright red colour with a yellow-green ground colour. Used for fresh fruit, cooking and drying. Matures early-to-mid season.
