Description
"The Wiz" cultivar of Mangle's Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos manglesii) is a dwarf form that features distinct bright green fingers with a bright red base and stem. These unique flowers captivate attention and primarily bloom from Djilba (late winter) to Birak (summer). Being drought-hardy once established, "The Wiz" can be planted both in the ground and in pots, adding a touch of Australian charm to various garden settings.
With its compact size, "The Wiz" is perfect for smaller gardens, containers, or as a vibrant border plant. It thrives in full sun and accommodates various soil types, but sandy soils can be improved with organic matter for optimal growth. Watering requirements are minimal after establishment, and fertilising with native fertiliser in Djilba (late winter to early spring) and Djeran (autumn) promotes healthy growth. Prune hard to the ground in early Djeran (autumn) to refresh the plant and maintain its eye-catching presence throughout the year.
