Description

The "Western Glory" cultivar of the Bottlebrush Melaleuca citrina (Syn. Callistemon) is a large shrub that showcases striking pinkish-red blooms. Native to Australia, its hardy nature makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a resilient and minimal-maintenance plant. Only in Bunuru (summer) heatwaves does it need some extra water, adding to its appeal.

For optimal growth, especially in sandy soils, it's advised to mix in a soil conditioner when planting "Western Glory" in the ground. Full sun exposure is best for this beauty, and early Makuru (winter) is the ideal time for feeding with a native-plant fertiliser. Post-flowering pruning helps maintain its lush and robust form, making it a great focal point or boundary plant in gardens.
