Description
The "Yellow Wax" cultivar of the Chilli (Capsicum sp.) boasts slender, vivid yellow chillies that add a burst of colour to any garden. Complementing the vibrant fruit, the plant showcases delicate white flowers in Birak (early summer), accompanied by its deep green foliage. These attributes combine to make it a striking addition to garden beds, pots, or vege/herb plots.
Plant "Yellow Wax" in a sunny spot with well-draining soil. If your ground is sandy, enriching with a good soil conditioner will greatly benefit the plant. A balanced fertiliser applied in Djilba (early spring) sets the stage for a bountiful harvest. Anticipate mature, crunchy fruits within 70-80 days from planting. These chillies, with a heat level between 500 and 5,000 SHU, promise a taste that's pleasantly spicy without being overpowering.

Humans can tolerate capsaicin, however it can be toxic at high enough levels, so caution must be taken when ingesting chillis. Capsaicin is also harmful to sensitive areas of the skin in humans and animals. Special care should be taken to avoid the eyes, nasal passage and groin in particular. |
