Description
The "Green" cultivar of the Spider Plant, Chlorophytum comosum, is a lush all-green variety revered for its resilient nature and air-purifying capabilities. Its long arching leaves offer a refreshing touch of greenery, and while it might not present vibrant flowers, its spiderettes dangling from mature plants provide visual interest. A versatile choice, it's equally suited for gardens, indoor pots, hanging baskets, or as a classic houseplant.
Whether in the ground, pots, or hanging baskets, this adaptable plant thrives in well-draining soil; if planting in-ground, consider enhancing sandy soils with a soil conditioner. It favours indirect light or partial shade and requires more frequent watering in Bunuru (summer) compared to cooler seasons. For optimal growth, a light application of general-purpose fertiliser in Djilba (early spring) will keep it thriving.
