Description
Dianella x hybrida 'Hybrid Variegated', commonly known as Variegated Flax Lily, is an evergreen perennial native to Australia. This cultivar is celebrated for its striking foliage: broad, sword-shaped leaves featuring a blend of green and creamy white stripes, adding a vibrant contrast to garden landscapes. In Kambarang (Late Spring) and Birak (Early Summer), it produces delicate blue flowers on slender stems, which are occasionally followed by small, ornamental blue berries. The plant typically reaches a height and width of approximately 50 cm to 1 metre, forming neat clumps that make it suitable for use as a ground cover or border plant.
In Perth's climate, the Variegated Flax Lily thrives in full sun to part shade positions and is well-suited for both garden beds and pots.
