Description
The "Royal Cheer" cultivar of Mangle's Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos manglesii) is an eye-catching addition with distinct bright green fingers and a bright red base and stem. It flowers year-round but primarily in the warmer months, providing an extended season of vibrant colour. Once established, "Royal Cheer" is drought-hardy, needing only minimal watering, and can be grown both in the ground and in pots for versatile display options.
In a garden setting, "Royal Cheer" can become a striking focal point or complement other native plants. Thriving in full sun, it accommodates various soil types, and sandy soils can be enhanced with organic matter. Native fertiliser applied in Djilba (late winter to early spring) and Djeran (autumn) supports its thriving growth. Pruning hard to the ground in early Djeran (autumn) helps rejuvenate the plant, ensuring that "Royal Cheer" continues to dazzle and delight throughout the year.
