Description
The Capsicum 'Redskin' is a compact, bushy plant that’s ideal for smaller garden beds, pots, or even balcony gardens, as it reaches only a moderate size yet produces an abundance of vibrant red peppers. This capsicum variety starts to bloom with small white flowers in Djilba (Early Spring), continuing through Bunuru (Late Summer), making it an attractive and productive choice for home growers. 'Redskin' fruits are sweet and crunchy, perfect for salads, roasting, or adding a pop of colour to culinary dishes.
To grow 'Redskin' successfully, plant it in a sunny spot with well-draining, fertile soil. This variety performs well with consistent moisture but does not tolerate waterlogging, so keep soil slightly moist without allowing it to become saturated. Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser every 4–6 weeks throughout the growing season. Capsicums generally take about 70–80 days from flowering to harvest, and you can start picking the fruits once they turn fully red for the sweetest flavour. Regular harvesting will encourage continued fruit production.
