Description
The Citrus x sinensis 'Fisher' Sweet Orange is a desirable citrus variety originating from Southern China, North-East India, and Myanmar, and thrives in Perth’s climate. It is an evergreen tree that produces fragrant white flowers with purple tinges from Early Spring (Djilba) through to Late Summer (Bunuru). Ideal for pots or garden beds, it prefers full sun but will tolerate part shade. Plant it in well-draining, sandy or loamy soil enriched with compost, or use a premium potting mix if planting in a container.
The 'Fisher' cultivar is known for its large, sweet fruit, perfect for fresh eating, juicing, and culinary uses. Water consistently during warmer weather to maintain juicy fruit and prevent splitting. Harvest the oranges once they develop a vibrant orange colour and yield slightly when gently squeezed. This orange variety adds a delightful, citrusy fragrance and visual appeal to gardens while providing delicious, home-grown produce.
