When planting the Red Lantern Banksia in the ground, it's essential to provide well-drained soil conditions. In sandy or less fertile soils, amending with organic matter ensures robust growth. The plant flourishes in full sun positions and demands consistent watering, reducing slightly during Djeran (autumn) and Makuru (winter). During Bunuru (late summer/early autumn), the application of a slow-release native fertiliser will help sustain its health. Pruning, if desired, should be executed after the flowering season to maintain its shape and density.
