Description
"Desert Flame", a hybrid of Chrysocephalum apiculatum, is widely recognised for its continuous bloom throughout the year. Its dainty yellow button-like flowers, also known by the common name Yellow Buttons, light up garden beds and homes alike. A standout for its resilient nature, silvery foliage and vibrant floral display, this plant becomes an obvious choice for those wanting a touch of brightness all year round.
Ideally suited for ground planting, it can also grace pots, hanging baskets, and indoor settings. When planting in the ground, especially in sandy soils, consider mixing in a soil conditioner for improved vitality. "Desert Flame" thrives in full to partial sun, with moderate watering needs, and will benefit from a light application of general-purpose fertiliser during Djilba (early spring). To maintain a compact appearance, consider light pruning during Makuru (winter).
