Description
The "Miho Wase" cultivar of Satsuma Mandarin (Citrus unshiu) is distinguished by its excellent flavour, leaning more on the tart side compared to regular Mandarins. This variety is cold-tolerant, able to withstand mild frost, making it a stellar choice for areas prone to cooler spells. Furthermore, the plant yields aromatic white blossoms before fruiting, signalling the onset of Djilba (late winter to spring).
Suitable for pot cultivation or in-ground planting, those opting for the latter in sandy terrains will benefit significantly from enriching the soil with a premium soil conditioner. Watering consistency, especially from Kambarang to Djeran (spring to autumn), is crucial. Boost its growth with a citrus-specific fertiliser during Djilba (late winter to spring), ensuring optimum fruit yield.
