Description

The "Okitsu" cultivar of Satsuma Mandarin (Citrus unshiu) holds the distinction of being an early-season variety, particularly loved for its green-skinned, ripe fruits. A darling in the citrus world, it features a very thin skin that's effortlessly peeled away to reveal sweet, mostly seedless segments. The white blossoms appear during Djilba (late winter to spring), providing a fragrant allure to any garden.

Best suited for either pots or direct ground planting, "Okitsu" thrives with consistent water from Kambarang to Djeran (spring to autumn). For those planting in sandy soils, a quality soil conditioner is recommended for better nourishment. To ensure a robust and fruitful growth, it's a good practice to use a citrus-specific fertiliser come Djilba (late winter to spring). Given its high cold tolerance, it can even withstand mild frosts, making it an exceptional choice for areas with cooler nights.
