Description
Dieffenbachia 'Stirling' is a striking indoor foliage plant known for its bold, upright leaves featuring deep green tones accented by prominent silvery-white central veins. Its symmetrical, lance-shaped foliage adds a sculptural elegance to interiors, making it ideal for pots in living rooms, offices, or shaded patios in Perth. This cultivar typically reaches a height of 90–100 cm and a width of 60–80 cm, forming a compact, bushy habit.
Best grown in bright, indirect light, 'Stirling' thrives in well-draining potting mix with moderate moisture. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry, and ensure excess water drains freely to prevent root rot. Maintain indoor temperatures above 15°C and avoid cold drafts. Fertilise every 4–6 weeks during active growth (spring to early autumn) with a balanced liquid fertiliser. While flowering is rare indoors, blooms may appear in late spring to early summer (Kambarang to Birak), though the foliage remains the main attraction.
