Description
The "White Out" cultivar of Hardenbergia violacea, commonly known as Native Wisteria, is a climbing, cascading plant that can reach up to 5 metres. Its pure white flowers grace your garden from Makuru to Kambarang (winter to late spring), providing a dramatic contrast to the more common purple blooms. This vigorous climber is perfect for covering fences, trellises, or arbours, and its cascading habit also makes it a stunning feature plant.
Although "White Out" can adapt to pot culture with a well-draining or premium potting mix, it truly thrives when planted in the ground. It enjoys full sun and appreciates well-drained soil; if your soil is poor or sandy, a soil conditioner will give it a boost. Fertilise your plant during Djeran (autumn) with a low-phosphorus fertiliser to encourage healthy growth and abundant flowering.
