Description
Heptapleurum actinophyllum (syn. Schefflera actinophylla) 'Alpine Junior' is a compact and refined cultivar of the popular Australian Umbrella Tree. Its glossy, bright green, umbrella-like leaves create a lush and tropical appearance, making it a perfect feature plant for indoor spaces, shaded patios, or tropical-themed gardens. The smaller size of 'Alpine Junior' makes it ideal for pots, indoor use, or small garden spaces.
This hardy evergreen thrives in bright, indirect light and tolerates a range of soil types as long as they are well-draining. Keep the soil slightly moist but not waterlogged, and reduce watering during cooler months. A slow-release fertiliser applied in spring will encourage healthy growth. Regular pruning helps maintain its neat, bushy shape, especially when grown indoors.
