Description
Botanical Name: Allium tuberosum
Broader leaves than ordinary chives, they have a delicious mild garlic flavour. Use in salads, stir-fries, casseroles etc. Pretty white flowers are formed in summer. Also ideal for growing in pots.
How To Grow |
Drop seeds 12mm (half-inch) deep in groups of 3-4 seeds. Remove the weaker seedlings to leave one plant per position. Allow 15cm (6in) between the plants, and keep watered during the growing season. Chives will grow in any good garden soil. |
